Alan Greenspan misread Rand. Rand was clearly against the very notion of a corporation, as well as corporate welfare. In Atlas Shrugged, she portrays the incorporated Taggart Railroad and United Steel as bad models for business, and the privately owned Rearden metal plant as the real workable model.
On the other hand, any business person would see that, if you can make a larger profit for yourself by working the system, by Rand's philosophy you should. That's the real flaw in her objectivist philosophy for business.
Когда Atlas Shrugged писался (после войны) и даже публиковался в 50-х, корпорации ещё играли ограниченную роль в американской экономике. Так что, ирония судьбы в том, что Алиса Зиновьевна предсказывала нынешний кризис! К которому её верный последователь и поклонник Гринспен нас и привёл.
