You missed the point... I'm not blaming Indian Navy for sinking the trawler — if they sincerely thought, they were being targeted, they were justified in firing their own weapons. (Whether or not their reaction was, actually, justified is another story).

My problem is with their failure to check for survivors, who, after the boat sunk under them, could pose no threat whatsoever. If those guys were themselves another country's navy, not pulling them from the water would've been a war crime. And yet, the victorious Indians sail away leaving 16 people to drown, and the only problem the world has with it, is that, it seems, they attacked the wrong ship.

And why didn't they check for survivors? Because of all the hate-mongering over Guantanamo, where America is keeping the prisoners, we chose not to kill. So, the Indians decided, to take your instructor's advice one step further and not "worry about legalities later".

You and your mother must now publicly burn an Indian flag over this — as a penance for being fairly active participants in the said hate-mongering...
