E.U. high court says Britain can unilaterally reverse Brexit

The European Union’s highest court ruled on Monday that Britain could unilaterally reverse its decision to split from the 28-nation political bloc any time before the March 29 deadline to leave the European Union.  The ruling also said that if E.U. leaders grant Britain an extension period after March 29 to keep negotiating, the British about-face could take place during that time too.

 

The decision came a day before the British parliament is set to vote on Prime Minister Theresa May’s unpopular Brexit deal.  Pro-Brexit hard-liners say it keeps their country unacceptably entangled inside the E.U. market. Pro-E. U. campaigners say it would inflict major harm on the British economy and strip Britain’s voice in European decision-making while offering little benefit to the country.

Завтрашнее голосование по проекту Брекзита в английском парламенте отменено ввиду очевидного провала.  Тереза Мэй едет в Брюссель выпрашивать дополнительные плюшки от Евросоюза.  Дональд Туск заявил, что изменений договора со стороны 27 стран ЕС не будет, "however, he said EU leaders would be willing to discuss how to facilitate UK ratification of the withdrawal agreement at Thursday's summit in Brussels" (BBC).

 

Английский фунт присел, лондонская биржа съехала на 3%, нью-йоркская тоже поехала вниз, но уже вернулась.

 Вот и Макрон почесался обратиться к своему народу четырёх недель беспорядков.  Конечно, выразил неудовольствие, но беспорядки перед Рождеством (вернее, убытки) заставили его заметить, что не все французы благоденствуют.  Опять таки, вышли не какие-то безработные арабы, а вполне себе чистокровные французы среднего класса.  70% населения относятся с сочувствием к движению Жёлтых Жилетов.  В общем, само не рассосалось.

 

А подозрения, что российские спецслужбы тут замешаны, - само собой...
